Bratislava, November 8 (TASR) - Defence Ministry's secretary-general of the service office Peter Kozak met with Prince Radu of Romania on Monday, TASR learnt from the Defence Ministry's press department on the same day. The meeting was held on the sidelines of the official visit of the Romanian delegation to Slovakia, which will commemorate the legacy of fallen Romanian soldiers who perished during the liberation of Slovakia during WW2. About 240,000 Romanian soldiers liberated almost one-third of Slovakia from Nazi occupation and 13,000 of them lost their lives. "Slovakia hasn't forgotten the historic help it received from the Romanian Royal Army. Let its warriors rest in peace. Similarly, we don't forget the help in the fight against COVID-19. We're grateful for the prompt response of Romania to our request, as it sent a large medical team that did an excellent job at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NUSCH) in Bratislava," stated Kozak. Kozak added that Slovakia reciprocally offered Romania humanitarian aid as a response to its request filed via the EU civil defence mechanism. "It's evidence of the continuing partnership, on which we can build also in security and defence," added Kozak. mf/mcs
