Versailles/Bratislava, March 11 (TASR) - Slovakia finds it important to have a secure and prosperous neighbour in Ukraine, stated Prime Minister Eduard Heger (OLaNO) after the first day of EU leaders summit held in Versailles on Thursday (March 10) evening, TASR learnt from the Government Office's press department on Friday.
According to Heger, there was "very strong consensus" among all EU leaders at the summit that "Ukraine is part of the European family".
Heger pointed out that he submitted a proposal at the summit on how to help Ukraine get back on its feet after the war and become a full-fledged member state.
The plan consists of two parts. "To help them [the Ukrainians] with reforms and provide them with a sufficient financial shot in the arm. The second part is the drafting of a timetable, an action plan, to give them access to individual institutions as well," said Heger.
The prime minister added that he had handed the plan over to European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
