Nad: Slovakia Could Donate MiG Fighter Aircraft to Ukraine Jointly with Poland

Bratislava, March 9 (TASR) - Slovakia could send its decommissioned MiG-29 fighter jets to Ukraine jointly with Poland, said interim Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad on Thursday, adding that no decision has been made yet, as it has be okayed either by Parliament or the Government.
"I have official information, and it's been confirmed by the Polish president in his statement for CNN, that [the Poles] are ready to act in this manner. This is right, because they realise that the MiGs can save human lives and that we really don't need them anymore. No decision has been made yet because it requires a decision either by the Government or Parliament, but this is being discussed now," said Nad.
The minister at the same time claimed that Slovakia has received an offer of compensation for the fighter aircraft, claiming that what is being offered exceeds the value of the fighter jets several times over.
Nad stated in this vein that he'd appreciate it if the Constitution clearly defined an interim government's powers,
opining that matters such as donating fighter jets should not be decided by the president.
