Zilina, April 15 (TASR) - The Slovenian embassy in Bratislava plans to plant four lime trees in three Slovak towns and cities to commemorate 30 years of good diplomatic relations between the two countries, Zilina-based Servare et Manere NGO, which is the project partner, has informed TASR.
The first commemorative lime tree was planted in Zilina with Slovenian ambassador Stanislav Rascan, Zilina's vice-mayor Jan Nicik and general secretary of the Servare et Manere NGO Marek Sobola in attendance on Wednesday (April 12). The second tree was planted in Ruzomberok on the same day, and the project is set to be completed with the planting of the two remaining trees in Martin (Zilina region) later this week.
The Slovenian embassy consulted the idea with a environmental initiative of Slovenian beekeepers, who are planting floral nectar-producing plants in order to diversify the country's fauna. This project is connected to the renovation and creation of a green roof on the Zilina town hall building.
