Ramstein, April 21 (TASR) - Slovakia is one of the most active states in providing military aid to Ukraine and is determined to continue doing so; it will also continue to send humanitarian aid to Ukraine, interim Defence Minister Jaroslav Nad said on Friday following the meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group at Ramstein Air Base in Germany, TASR was told by spokeswoman for the Slovak Defence Ministry Martina Kakascikova on the same day. In total, Slovakia has already provided Ukraine with 12 aid packages. The help from Slovakia so far has included the S-300 missile defence system, the Bozena mine-sweeping system, 30 BVP-1 infantry combat vehicles, five transport helicopters, ammunition, fuel and most recently also 13 MiG-29 fighters and part of the KUB anti-aircraft defence system. According to Nad, air defence is crucial for Ukraine. "That's why we were one of the first countries to donate this strategic equipment. I believe that these steps will encourage several countries to decide to provide the necessary military aid, which could save even more human lives and help Ukraine liberate its territory," said the head of the Slovak Defence Ministry, praising the determination of the international community to help Ukraine. am/mcs
