Prague/Bratislava, April 25 (TASR-correspondent) - Slovakia wishes to be involved in the post-war recovery of Ukraine, House Chair Boris Kollar declared after his meeting with Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada Chair Ruslan Stefanchuk in Prague on Tuesday.
As TASR learnt from its correspondent in Prague, Stefanchuk promised Kollar that Slovakia won't be left out of the process.
Kollar was taking part in a conference of EU parliamentary chairs and representatives of candidates countries, held in the Czech Republic in April 24-25.
Stefanchuk claimed that Ukraine remembers which states started to help it first and thanked Slovakia for its military and humanitarian aid as well as for empathy shown to Ukrainian refugees.
Kollar reiterated that Slovakia supports Ukraine's accession to the EU, but the country must meet all the criteria first.
The Slovak House Chair perceived the conference as beneficial, as leaders confirmed their joint approach towards Russia. "We hold the same views on the situation, maybe except Hungary. But we all concurred in a principled fashion that we are united and have applied joint measures against the aggressor and towards Ukraine," said Kollar.
Another issue broached was the dissemination of Russian disinformation and influencing of elections in democratic countries. "We also discussed the interference with the politics of individual states via conspiracy webs, influencing of the media and the online space," stated Kollar. "We all register this as a great threat."
