Bratislava, April 29 (TASR) - A new educational curriculum created by the Education Ministry will be presented to teachers and directors of educational institutions at a series of meetings from May 2 to June 23 in every region of Slovakia, the Education Ministry's communications and marketing department has informed TASR. At the arranged meeting the Education Ministry and the creators of the new curriculum will speak about the key changes and the process of implementation. "Together with the first 40 schools we'll begin to implement the new curriculum. We're offering teachers and directors a chance to learn about the new educational standards at face-to-face meetings," explained interim Education Minister Jan Horecky. The meetings will have the form of an info-seminar. The goal of the personal meetings is to present examples of the changes and to instruct educators how to proceed with their implementation. "We need to observe the guiding effect of the new curriculum on educators - to teach students how to find information and think and act independently," explained Martin Kriz, director of the Education Ministry's curriculum and innovations in education department. The first 40 schools will implement the new curriculum in the 2023/2024 school year in a experimental trial. The new curriculum will come into effect in the 2026/2027 school year. mta/df/mf
