Pellegrini: Voice-SD Will Support Change, We Won't Assist Continuation of Chaos

Bratislava, August 23 (TASR) - The only remedy for the current extremely complicated situation in the state is the election after which Voice-SD is ready to support a fundamental change of governance, Voice-SD chairman Peter Pellegrini said on TASR TV on Wednesday.
According to him, during this electoral term, the state has fallen into economic and social decay but also into political chaos, which began to affect the security environment as well. He expects the future coalition to standardise the conditions in the state. "After the election, the premier and ministers who come from the election must start ruling in Slovakia again, and not the third sector and selected media," he stressed.
Although President Zuzana Caputova and Prime Minister Ludovit Odor assure that the security situation is under control, according to Pellegrini, it's highly non-standard and tense. "Two heads of the SIS [Slovak Intelligence Service] are accused, the NBU [National Security Bureau] head is accused, we don't have an interior minister, it's all managed by the caretaker prime minister, Mr. Odor, and only the president oversees it all," he noted. According to him, the situation "reeks of endangering the democratic establishment of this country".
According to Pellegrini, the solution will be personnel changes brought about by the election. "After the election, decent, respectable people who enjoy respect in their ranks and who will aim to calm the situation down must be appointed to all positions in the security forces," he said.
The former premier added that open cases should be investigated but only strictly in line with the law, the Constitution and evidence. "And the suspicion of whether or not someone manipulated the investigation must be investigated too," he emphasised.
