Bratislava, September 21 (TASR) - Ukrainian Agriculture Minister Mykola Solskyi has promised to halt the lawsuit that his country has filed against Slovakia at the World Trade Organisation and to lift the planned ban on imports of Slovak agricultural commodities to Ukraine, the Agriculture Ministry has reported.
"Agriculture Minister Jozef Bires called Wednesday's online meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart constructive, as they agreed to the setting up of a system of grain trading based on issuing and checking licenses. Until this system is launched and tested to make sure that it's fully functional, the ban on imports of four commodities from Ukraine, which the Slovak government approved with effect from September 16 until the end of 2023, will remain in force," the Agriculture Ministry press department told TASR.
Bires reportedly asked Solskyi to stop all actions related to the lawsuit against Slovakia along with plans involving a ban on imports of agro-commodities from Slovakia. "Minister Solskyi promised to halt these actions as of September 20," added the Slovak ministry.
