Piestany, October 18 (TASR) - Unmanned technologies and their use in state administration, industry and services in the V4 (Visegrad Four) countries (the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Slovakia) are the topic of a professional international conference called Drontex 2023 that was launched in the premises of the national historical landmark Elektrarna (Power Plant) Piestany on Wednesday.
In addition to professional presentations, the two-day conference offers an exhibition of unmanned systems in the EXPO tent, a space for networking as well as an attractive accompanying programme, including the opening of an exhibition of unique images from the archives of the Press Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR).
"We're pleased that due to the international scope of the conference, we were able to establish cooperation with associations dedicated to drones and their operation in the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary. Thanks to our colleagues, we were able to put together an attractive and professional programme with an international reach," said head of an association called 'I have a drone' Rastislav Sopko. The ambassador of the second year of the conference is first Slovak astronaut Ivan Bella.
The programme on Wednesday was focused on the operation and management of drones in the European Union and V4 countries and advanced drone services. "The exponential increase of drones in the airspace and their deployment in various areas of society brings the necessity of managing unmanned operations. That's why I'm glad that sufficient space is dedicated to this topic at the conference," said Stefan Dusza from the Aviation Operation Services.
The second day of the conference will be dedicated to the security challenges brought by the drones. "Given the current situation, I see Drontex as an ideal platform for sharing information about new technologies but also standards within UAS and discussion among experts on the safety and use of unmanned systems in various applications," added Marek Nahlik from a company dedicated to the development and implementation of systems for management of manned and unmanned operations.
Conference participants will also be able to view an exhibition of unique TASR images taken from an airplane and a drone. "There are 19 photos and one info panel installed in the premises of the power plant. This is a selection of photos from the 'Family Silver' project, thanks to which the TASR archive was enriched with hundreds of aerial photos from all over Slovakia in 2018. We supplemented it with several photos from a drone that were taken as part of the continuation of the project," said TASR's Photo Desk head Michal Svitok.
