Bardyova added that Roman Lakatos is one of Slovakia's most wanted criminals. In the past he was actively engaged in an organised group committing serious drug-related crimes. On July 25 he was convicted and sentenced to 15 years in prison for drug-related crime. The fugitive was detained in Peterborough on December 19 thanks to cooperation between the manhunting unit of the Slovak Police Corps, also known as the 'Skull Hunters', their counterparts from the United Kingdom and the International Police Cooperation Office. "The Skull Hunters have been working on the case since 2021, when they found out initial information on the movement and whereabouts of the wanted person. However, the situation was complicated by the fact that the wanted person acted in a very sophisticated manner during his escape, using various aliases and false documents," said Bardyova. ko/df
