Bratislava, March 12 (TASR) - Public-service Radio and Television of Slovakia (RTVS) has opened a creative centre called Artena in Bratislava on Tuesday, which means that the city now has a "space for the development of art" to ensure the promotion of creative talent and employment in the cultural and creative industries. "It will be a significant contribution to the development of creative potential in the field of audio-visual arts not only in Slovakia," said RTVS general director Lubos Machaj. "This is the sixth creative centre, and we'll open nine in total. Every government has supported this great project, which was launched in 2019, and we've also supported it, I'm proud of that," said Culture Minister Martina Simkovicova (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) at the opening. The minister sees the project as of great importance, especially for the next generation. "They can create and give us their visions and ideas, and within this creative audio-visual studio they can also realise them," she stated, adding that another creative centre in Kosice is due to open next month. Simkovicova stressed that the newly opened studio is equipped with state-of-the-art technology that can compete with European and world studios. Top experts in audio-visual technology will be available in the creative centre for the general public. "These projects are also designed to look for new people who may be employed by Slovak Television in the future," she added. RTVS received almost €10 million as a non-refundable financial contribution from the EU funds for the construction of the creative centre in Bratislava. am/mcs
