Premier: Slovakia Interested in Supporting Ukraine, But Not with Lethal Weapons

Bratislava, March 26 (TASR) - Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) stressed at a meeting with NATO's Supreme Allied Commander Europe, General Christopher G. Cavoli, Slovakia's interest in supporting Ukraine with all available means, however, he reiterated the government's clear position not to send lethal weapons to Ukraine, TASR was told by the Government Office's press and information department.
The meeting was held at the Government Office on Tuesday. Fico concurred with the Supreme Allied Commander Europe on the importance of completing the strengthening of deterrence and defence of the NATO countries. "In this context, it's of particular importance for Slovakia to re-assure the air and missile defence of our territory," said Fico.
General Christopher G. Cavoli came to visit Slovakia as part of his tour of the Alliance's member states.
