Bratislava, July 17 (TASR) - The Culture Ministry launched an internal audit at the Slovak National Gallery (SNG) on Wednesday, head of the ministry's communications department Petra Bacinska has told TASR, adding that the ministry wants to check in this way how the gallery, which falls under its remit, is managed and how it manages the money allocated to it. The Culture Ministry also referred to an audit carried out in 2018. According to Bacinska, the auditors at the time found serious flaws in the functioning of SNG's managerial system. These concerned the conduct of basic financial audits and public procurement, as well as corrections to accounting records and internal guidelines. "Based on an analysis and evaluation of the submitted documents, as well as interviews with SNG staff, the then audit group came to the conclusion that there are serious shortcomings in the set-up as well as in the functioning of the management and audit system of SNG," stated Bacinska. ko/df
