Bratislava, September 14 (TASR) - Extra holidays are the second most popular benefit among employees in Slovakia following home office, according to the latest survey carried out by the Platy.sk website on a sample of 4,365 people. This benefit is the most important for low-income groups of people engaged in the transport, tourism, catering and health-care sectors. Meanwhile, flexible working time is especially appreciated by people engaged in management, administration, economics and construction. Employees in Slovakia want more free days, regardless of whether they are holidays beyond the scope set by law, sick days or unlimited time off. The survey further showed that extra holidays are in demand especially among employees with lower salaries working in the industrial manufacturing, transport, state administration, electrical engineering and energy sectors. Meanwhile, home office remained the most important perk for those working in the IT sector. Opportunities for further education are most highly appreciated by employees in the education and the automotive sectors. Flexible working time is most often used by people working in the management, administration, trade, construction and HR sectors. The preferences for individual benefits also differ based on the level of education achieved. People with up to secondary school education prefer extra holidays, while flexible working time is the most important element for people with university education. The respondents were also asked whether they are satisfied with their perks. One in five respondents who regularly go to a workplace said they are satisfied with them. This especially applies to IT workers. Meanwhile, one in four would welcome more targeted benefits, such as cheaper lunches, a parking place or a massage at the workplace. Another perk is the possibility of exclusive home office, which is used by still more and more people, but is still not common in Slovakia. One in four respondents working from home would return to their workplace if it were closer to their home, while one in three would be motivated by their colleagues and work team. ko/df
