Bratislava, September 17 (TASR) - The flooding situation in Bratislava's borough of Devinska Nova Ves is more stable, but it's too soon to speak of any improvement, said Devinska Nova Ves mayor Darius Krajcir on Tuesday morning, adding that the water level of the Morava and Danube Rivers still isn't falling. "We are pumping out water from all places where it could cause damage and flood other cellars and houses. We're doing our best to ensure that it doesn't flood places that can avoid flooding," said Krajcir. Seven mobile professional pumping stations have been set up on the embankment facing Devin Lake. Additional teams were called to help in the borough, and they are pumping out the water that flooded the water shafts of Bratislava Water-management Company, which provides water supplies to Slovakia's capital. These are closed, so people needn't worry about the quality of potable water, stated the mayor. At the same time, the mayor asked locals to continue to avoid flooded sites, places where work on clearing up the damage is being carried out, as well as those controlled by the police. According to him, this is necessary for their safety and so that all the emergency services will be able to carry out their work. ko/df
