Police Press Charges against Eye Surgeon Who Caused Serious Injuries to Patients

Bratislava, September 20 (TASR) - The police pressed charges against 51-years-old doctor only identified as I. D. who caused serious injuries to two patients through improperly performed eye surgery in 2019, Bratislava regional police announced on a social network on Friday. If found guilty, the doctor can be sentenced to six months to two years in prison for committing this crime. During the investigation, the police examined several cases concerning surgeons with a similar modus operandi dating back to 2019. "Steps are being currently taken aimed at clarifying these cases as well," added the police. ko/mcs
