President Pellegrini to Leave for USA, Deliver Speech at UN General Assembly

Bratislava, September 21 (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini will leave on Sunday (September 22) for New York, where he's slated to take part in a session of the UN General Assembly and deliver a speech at the Summit of Future, TASR learnt from the President's Office press department on Saturday. World leaders are to meet on Monday (September 23) for the Summit of Future in New York with an eye towards forging a new international consensus and restore trust in multilateralism. "This is supposed to become an impetus for the meeting of existing commitments and also for addressing new challenges, including the peaceful use of university and new technologies such as AI," stated the press department. The President is scheduled to deliver a speech also during the debate of the UN General Assembly on Wednesday (September 25) and take part in the open discussion of the UN Security Council on the topic 'the ability to lead towards peace'. Pellegrini will hold bilateral talks with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and other heads of states, including President of the World Jewish Congress Ronald Lauder as well. mf
