Tomas: Danko Lies, Tries to Pull Volte-face

Bratislava, September 22 (TASR) - SNS chair Andrej Danko lies and neither I nor the Labour Ministry have initiated changes to the institute of the "parental pension", Labour Minister Erik Tomas (Voice-SD) declared on Sunday. Tomas responded this way to statements made by Danko earlier in the day on TA3's talk show 'In Politics', in which Danko had blasted Tomas for being headstrong enough to push through the scrapping of the "parental pension" for retired parents whose children in productive age hold jobs. "Andrej Danko crookedly lied today. Neither the Labour Ministry nor I personally have initiated changes to the parental pension. After all, this was a proposal tabled by the coalition's consolidation team, on which SNS had its nominee too," said Tomas. Tomas underlined that, contrary to his latest statements, Danko had originally greenlighted not only severe cuts to the parental pensions but also an enormous rearming of the military worth hundreds of millions of euros. "I, as the Minister of Labour, Social Affairs and Family, have never agreed to this, a fact that's known in the coalition," claimed Tomas. mf
