Chlaba, September 23 (TASR) - The access road to the village of Chlaba (Nitra region) was reopened shortly before noon on Monday, with the Sturovo-Chlaba-Helemba Kozseg regional bus line now running again, Nitra Regional Authority has informed TASR, adding that a temporary rail connection between Chlaba and the town of Sturovo, provided by selected international trains, will no longer be in place after Monday. The III/1515 road, which runs alongside the Danube River, is the only access road to Chlaba from the Slovak side. During the floods it was covered by water from the Danube River and was closed as of last Wednesday (September 18). The river level culminated late on Friday (September 20) afternoon, but the road was still under water for some time. The access road to the village on the Hungarian side was also flooded - by the Ipel River. The cross-border bridge over the Ipel is still closed in the direction towards Hungary. ko/df
