BVS Changing Prices of Water Supplies and Sewage-water Disposal as of October

Bratislava, September 30 (TASR) - As of October 1, customers of water management company Bratislavska Vodarenska Spolocnost (BVS) will pay new prices for water supplies and sewage-water disposal, set by the Office for Regulation of Network Industries (URSO), BVS marketing department head Matus Straciak informed TASR on Monday. The new price of water supplies will be €1.5103 per cubic metre (including VAT), while the price of sewage-water disposal will be €1.4725 per cubic metre. "For an average family of three, this change will mean an increase of some €1.60 per month," said Straciak. He pointed to the fact that prices of water supplies and sewage-water disposal changed only minimally until 2020. This fact was reflected in the maintenance of the water network and resulted in frequent emergencies and malfunctions. "Huge investments are thus needed for the systemic renewal of the outdated network, which could at least partially be covered by increased charges for water supplies and sewage-water disposal," said Straciak. ko/df
