Bratislava, September 30 (TASR) - M.R. Stefanik Airport in Bratislava processed a total of 1.1 million travellers in the June-September period, notching up one of the best summer seasons in the airport's history, facility general manager Dusan Novota reported on Monday. The busiest month of the summer season was July, when the airport handled 327,687 passengers. The busiest day was July 28, when the airport processed a total of 12,602 people in one day. The most popular destinations this summer included Antalya in Turkey, Hurghada in Egypt, Larnaca in Cyprus and Burgas in Bulgaria. Meanwhile, head of the Slovak Association of Travel Agencies Roman Berkes, who also took part in the press conference, noted in this vein that he expects the summer season to be a success for travel agencies as well, adding, however, that they'll first have to wait for official figures from the Statistics Office. According to him, it can be realistically expected that this year's summer season will surpass last year's in terms of numbers of travellers. zel/mcs
