Pellegrini Off to Geneva to Visit CERN

Bratislava, October 1 (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini has left for a one-day visit to the headquarters of the European Organisation for Nuclear Research (CERN) in Geneva on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of its founding. During the visit, the president will meet the Slovak scientific community at CERN as well as organisation general manager Fabiola Gianotti. In the afternoon, Pellegrini, along with other presidents and premiers, will participate in a welcome ceremony and will hold bilateral talks with his Swiss counterpart Viola Amherd. The president's trip will also include a visit to the ALICE underground experimental facility and a tour of the Large Hadron Collider. zel/df
