Bratislava, October 2 (TASR) - Police Corps President Lubomir Solak met with Financial Administration President Jozef Kiss, head of the Bratislava City Police Miroslav Antal and Bratislava Mayor Matus Vallo on Wednesday over the recent police crackdowns in Bratislava dance clubs, TASR learnt from the Police Corps press department on the same day. "We're aware that such operations require complex procedural steps that might also inconvenience visitors to events or club owners, who don't commit any criminal activities," stated the police, adding that the proper recording of club revenue is important, however. In addition, the police informed that during the last operation several plastic bags with white crystalline substance had been impounded and five people apprehended. The capital city of Bratislava is of the opinion that any police crackdown must be proportionate and reasonable. "The last busts in Bratislava dance clubs have raised rightful doubts about their proportionality. We also object to some interpretations of these crackdowns, which paint the dance clubs in our city as nests of crime and young people as junkies. That's not true," Bratislava city spokesperson Peter Bubla told TASR. At the meeting, representatives of the city drew attention to other places and locations in Bratislava, where drug-related crimes routinely take place that not only bother but even directly endanger the inhabitants. On Wednesday, Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD) declared that police will take resolute action against drugs in clubs and schools. mf/mcs
