MPs Concluded Current House Session

Bratislava, October 3 (TASR) - MPs ended on Thursday the current 19th parliamentary session, approving the proposal of Parliamentary Vice-chair Peter Ziga (Voice-SD), who has been temporarily entrusted with the powers of the House chair. A total of 79 of the 123 lawmakers present were in favour, 43 were against, and one abstained. The pending agenda items and the vote on the pending ones are to be scheduled for the next regular sitting, which is due to start on October 22. Three opposition motions to dismiss Health Minister Zuzana Dolinkova (Voice-SD), Culture Minister Martina Simkovicova (a Slovak National Party/SNS nominee) and Justice Minister Boris Susko (Smer-SD) were also postponed. At the current meeting, MPs were also scheduled to decide on the election of a member of the Board of Directors of the News Agency of the Slovak Republic or a member of the Board of Directors of the Nation's Memory Institute. am/mcs
