Bratislava, October 4 (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini is ready to receive Health Minister Zuzana Dolinkova (Voice-SD) within the next few days to talk to her about the reasons for her resignation, among which she included the approval of the consolidation package by Parliament. Pellegrini also plans to meet representatives of doctors, nurses and emergency crews to discuss their demands with them. He said that he will inform the media about further procedures afterwards. "Health care is one of the key sectors from the viewpoint of the quality of people's lives, and the current government committed itself to increasing this in its government manifesto. I do understand the acute need to consolidate public finances as a necessary 'tax' for the mismanagement of previous governments. On the other hand, I'm convinced that the structure of general recovery measures should feature the fundamental priorities of the government. The resignation announced by the health minister and the reasons that she's given so far indicate that the health-care sector isn't such a priority," noted the president. Dolinkova announced her decision to step down from her post on Friday. She plans to hand in her resignation to President Peter Pellegrini very soon. She said that she doesn't feel support for her goals and measures aimed at improving health care. The outgoing minister also blasted the consolidation measures approved by Parliament. She also took potshots at the stance of Government Proxy for Investigations into COVID-19 Pandemic Management Peter Kotlar, criticising him for spreading disinformation. ko/df
