Bratislava, October 8 (TASR) - Opposition's KDH and 'Slovakia' parties call on Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) to oust Government Proxy for Investigation into COVID-19 Pandemic Management Peter Kotlar over Kotlar disseminating disinformation and undermining public trust in vaccination, TASR learnt on Tuesday. "We call on Prime Minister Fico, also in light of the responsibility he bears towards the people of Slovakia, to accept the conclusions by scientists and immediately oust the Government Proxy for Investigation into the Pandemic. Peter Kotlar is steering Slovakia where no country in the world is headed. He denies the essential facts of medicine, science and expertise," MP Frantisek Majersky (KDH) declared at a press conference. According to MP Peter Stachura (KDH), nothing of consequence was written in Kotlar's report that could help Slovakia overcome future pandemics. Instead, Kotlar has been working to erode public trust in mRNA vaccines that have helped to prevent 20 million deaths worldwide. "It is paradoxical that Slovakia, a country in the heart of Europe, member to the European Union, gives in its public space room to hoaxers and the people who cast doubt over the very mRNA [vaccines]," he claimed and urged the Prime Minister also to assume responsibility over the health sector and launch talks with disgruntled health personnel. Kotlar's immediate dismissal is demanded also by the 'Slovakia' party. "Since the moment he was appointed the Government Proxy, Peter Kotlar has demonstrated that the only thing his post is good for is to spread lies and conspiracy theories for the disinformation scene. His conclusions are absolutely useless for any actual assessment of the pandemic management," noted chair of 'Slovakia'-For the People-KU caucus Michal Sipos. mf/mcs
