Bratislava, October 8 (TASR) - Prosecutor Ondrej Repa of the Prosecutor-General's Office has put a conditional stop to the criminal prosecution of six corruption items and misuse of public official's power in the Toll Collector case against ex-head of the Financial Administration Frantisek I. [name abbreviated due to legal reasons] over the fact that the cooperating defendant has been collaborating with law enforcement and helped shed light into the corruption cases to a considerable extent, TASR learnt from Prosecutor-General's spokesperson Zuzana Drobova on Tuesday. It was aktuality.sk website that broke the news first. The prosecutor pointed out that the defendant had no financial profit from several of the misdeeds and only carried out the role of intermediary for bribes. In addition, the defendant actively reported one of the misdeeds by filing a criminal complaint. The decision to stop the prosecution against Frantisek I. comes with a five-year probation. Ex-head of the Financial Administration Frantisek I. received a suspended three-year sentence with a five-year probation as well as a fine of €202,000. If he fails to pay the fine, it will be replaced with a three-year incarceration. Frantisek I. is one of the key cooperating defendants in several high-profile corruption cases. mf/mcs
