Bratislava, October 9 (TASR) - Slovakia was visited on Wednesday by San Marino Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Economic Cooperation and Telecommunications Luca Beccari, who met with Slovak Foreign Affairs Ministry's state secretary Marek Estok to discuss the bolstering of bilateral cooperation and support for the San Marino's association agreement with EU, TASR learnt from the ministry's press department on the same day. "We're convinced that the Association Agreement between EU and the Republic of San Marino will bolster our good ties at both the European level as well as bilaterally," stated Estok, who pointed out that San Marino has been trying to foment closer ties with the EU since 2007. The agreement aims to develop cooperation in banking and finance as well as streamline, for instance, San Marino's access to EU's research and education programmes. "I trust that we'll manage to find a way to intensify our mutually beneficial economic cooperation even more. The recently concluded Agreement on Cooperation between the Slovak Chamber of Trade and Industry and the Agency for Economic Development, San Marino's chamber of commerce, is a positive development," claimed Estok. mf
