SNS: Statements by Voice-SD Members Attempt to Divert Attention from Problems

Bratislava, October 13 (TASR) - Junior governing Slovak National Party (SNS) views the criticism of Government Proxy for Investigation into COVID-19 Pandemic Management Peter Kotlar and opening of the issue of the House chair election by Voice-SD representatives in the weekend political discussion programmes as an attempt to divert attention from the essence of the problems in Slovakia, SNS spokesperson Zuzana Skopcova informed TASR. According to SNS, Interior Minister and Voice-SD leader Matus Sutaj Estok and Education Minister Tomas Drucker (Voice-SD) with their statements on TV shows strive to divert attention from ex-minister Zuzana Dolinkova's (Voice-SD) failure. "She failed to make any reform in the health sector for almost one year in the office. She hasn't taken any steps to increase the transparency of the state-run VsZP health insurance company, hasn't met trade union representatives and deepened VsZP's deficit. Minister Dolinkova also neglected the fight against oligarchs, who are even richer after her one-year rule," stated the party. SNS criticised the fact that Voice-SD representatives not only failed to do any health care reform in a year, but they didn't even start taking steps in their sectors, such as the Interior Ministry. "We expected the Interior Ministry to make use of the chance to investigate the COVID-19 management so that the opposition would have to explain its actions between 2020 and 2023. Sutaj Estok should focus on systemic work in the police, rather than open issues that should be discussed at Coalition Council meetings," noted SNS. Sutaj Estok on Sunday criticised a report by Kotlar. He stressed that Voice-SD rejects questioning of scientific facts and authorities. He recalled what the report originally should have been about. "Either he'll submit the report we requested, or he doesn't have to submit any report at all," said Sutaj Estok, who believes that Kotlar has self-reflection. Drucker pointed to the government proxy's different role as well. "I expect him to either submit what he was supposed to, or go away," he said. ko
