Stats Office: New Orders in Industry Down 3.6 percent Y-o-Y in August

Bratislava, October 16 (TASR) - New orders in Slovak industry went down by 3.6 percent year-on-year (y-o-y) to €5.28 billion in August 2024, the Statistics Office reported on Wednesday. After seasonal adjustments, new orders in industry increased by 6.1 percent month-on-month (m-o-m). Seven of the 12 monitored branches posted decreases in volumes of orders in August. New orders went down significantly in the production of means of transport, in the production of clothing and in the production of metal structures excluding machinery and equipment. Conversely, the fastest y-o-y growth in new industrial orders was reported in the production of pharmaceutical products, the production of computer, electronic and optical products and the production of electric appliances. ko
