Fico to Skip EU-GCC Summit in Brussels on Wednesday (2)

Bratislava, October 16 (TASR) - Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) won't attend a summit of the EU and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) in Brussels on Wednesday, changing his agenda for the day, the Government Office has confirmed to TASR on the same day. "Due to a conflict schedule, the Prime Minister will travel to the summit in the early morning hours of Thursday (October 17). On Wednesday, Slovakia will be represented by Slovak Permanent Representative to the EU Juraj Nociar," added the Government Office's press department. After the summit on Wednesday, the European Council is scheduled to meet in Brussels on Thursday and Friday. During the meeting, EU leaders will discuss developments in the Middle East, competitiveness, migration and foreign affairs. mf/zel/mcs
