Bratislava, October 18 (TASR) - Slovakia's gross national income (GNI) amounted to €120.1 billion last year, an increase of 12.5 percent year-on-year (y-o-y), the Statistics Office reported on Friday. GNI data have changed throughout the whole time line due to benchmark revision. The biggest revisions for the past period were posted in the figure for 2022 (by -0.01 percent) and the one for 2021 (1.64 percent). The GNI value is determined from the value of the gross domestic product (GDP), which expresses the overall performance of the economy generated in the territory of the Slovak Republic. The final piece of data summarises the incomes of Slovak economic entities from home and abroad and serves as a basis for determining the amounts that Slovakia contributes to the EU budget (own resources based on GNI) and is also used to set subsidies from the EU budget. ko/mcs
