Bratislava, October 19 (TASR) - The coalition Voice-SD party plans to unveil next year a proposal to change the Slovak election system, Voice-SD chair and Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok announced after the party's programme conference in the town of Liptovsky Mikulas (Zilina region) on Saturday. The aim of the proposal is to elevate the standing of regions. "Slovak regions will fare better when they make decisions on issues that concern them. After all, the fate of Slovakia cannot be decided only by Bratislava alone. Voice-SD plans to return the real power to our Slovak regions. That's why I announce publicly that next year Voice will present [a proposal of] a new and much fairer election system. We'll unveil it regardless of political reactions it elicits because we do it for the people," said Sutaj Estok, who didn't specify any details. "What matters most is the principle and that is that every Slovak region should be directly represented by its own legislator in Parliament," he claimed. mf
