Bratislava, October 20 (TASR) - The popularity of social networks among Slovaks is growing, with up to 70 percent of the people using them on a daily basis, it follows from a survey carried out by Go4insight agency. The survey revealed that the use of social networks in Slovakia is "quite intense", with almost 60 percent of respondents visiting them several times daily. On the contrary, 14 percent of the population don't use social networks at all. Up to 94 percent of the people younger than 26 years use social networks on a daily basis, with the intensity and frequency of the use declining among older age categories. In the group aged 60+, 40 percent of the people use social networks daily. "Paradoxically, however, it was this age group that saw the steepest increase in the use of social networks in recent years," establishes the survey. The number of people who use social networks at least once a day recorded a growth of 9 percent in comparison to 2022, when the survey was conducted the last time, and equals now 86 percent. "This trend demonstrates the growing importance of social platforms in everyday lives of the Slovaks," added the survey. The survey was conducted on a sample of 1,000 Slovaks aged 15-79 in late July/early August. mf
