Bratislava, October 21 (TASR) - Slovak Premier Robert Fico (Smer-SD), Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Hungarian Premier Viktor Orban will meet in the New Fortress in the Slovak town of Komarno (Nitra region) on Tuesday (October 22), the Government Office informed TASR on Monday, adding that the interior ministers of the participating countries will form a part of the delegations as well. Illegal migration, protection of the external borders of the European Union (EU) and strengthening of regional cooperation will be high on the agenda of the summit. "Cooperation between the EU and countries of the Western Balkans, especially Serbia, is one of the key factors for improving the migration situation in Europe. The core of this cooperation lies in measures aimed at strengthening border protection alongside the migration route, supporting the capacities of the Western Balkan countries in the issue of asylum and return proceedings, as well as harmonising visa policy with the European Union," said the Government Office. On Tuesday in Komarno, the leaders will also discuss innovative solutions to halt illegal migration to Europe. The Slovak Government sees a potential solution in external centres, the so-called hotspots for the processing of asylum applications outside the EU, such as the ones that are being currently launched by Italy in cooperation with Albania. ko/mcs
