New Sports Desk Chief Galik Plans to Enrich TASR Portfolio with New Products

Bratislava, October 22 (TASR) - To maintain the high level and credibility of the Sports Desk of the News Agency of the Slovak Republic (TASR) and to enrich its portfolio with new products, attractive to current and potential new clients - these are the priorities of new TASR Sports Desk chief Lukas Galik. A long-time editor of the public-service agency's Sports Desk has assumed his post following his success in the contest for the post. Galik has replaced in the post Peter Horvath who has been thanked by TASR editor-in-chief Marian Kolar for his work at the helm of the Sports Desk. "Horvath has built a functioning newsroom producing a fast and conceptual news service," stated Kolar. At the same time, he highlighted the ambitious project of his successor. "He has the potential to bring new elements to TASR's sports news service," said the editor-in-chief. The new chief of the Sports Desk is aware of the fact that the primary prerequisite for development is stabilisation of the desk in terms of staff. "After managing this task, I have the ambition to provide more information about the top domestic football league. The added value of the service could be regular interviews with foreign ice-hockey and football players playing for Slovak teams," he said. Galik believes that the new products he presented as part of his candidate project will raise the reputation of the TASR sports newscast and expand the group of its customers. ko/mcs
