'Slovakia' Party Sees No Reason for Having Anthem Changed, Wants to See Costs

Bratislava, October 23 (TASR) - 'Slovakia' party sees no reason for having the state anthem changed and finds any move by the Culture Ministry to that effect absurd, TASR learnt from 'Slovakia' spokesperson Matus Bystriansky on Wednesday. The party urged the Culture Ministry to reveal the reason why changes to the state anthem are needed and also what it will cost the taxpayers. "Instead of dealing with very tangible problems in her portfolio, Culture Minister Martina Simkovicova (SNS nominee) is dedicating her energy to red herring projects," said the spokesperson. 'Slovakia' added that in the face of far-reaching consolidation measures, such expenditure is a mockery in the face of all Slovaks. mf/mcs
