Bratislava, October 24 (TASR) - The opposition Progressive Slovakia (PS) party is launching an information campaign to draw attention to the fact that the government has failed to keep many of its promises in its first year in office, PS leader chair Michal Simecka announced on Thursday.
The party will distribute newspapers and launch a campaign involving billboards and short videos on social networks.
"This government of Robert Fico is destroying the lives of the people of Slovakia. It has thrust upon them the high price of consolidation, political chaos and instability, increased crime and even more hatred in the public space," said Simecka, adding that these are the results of the fourth government of Robert Fico.
The PS chief noted that the government promised an end to chaos, but instead coalition politicians are clashing with each other daily. "They promised cheaper food and a fight against price hikes, but instead they are raising taxes. They promised a motorway to Kosice, but even after 13 years of [Smer-led] governments we don't have one. They don't keep their own promises, they don't know how to govern, they are driven only by frustration and revenge," said Simecka.
The PS leader stressed that PS's aim is to defeat Fico in the next general election and to form a better government. Its anti-government campaign will also target regions and areas in which the coalition parties dominated in the most recent general election.
