Bratislava, October 25 (TASR) - The debate related to the no-confidence motion in Justice Minister Boris Susko (Smer-SD) was launched in Parliament on Friday. Eight speakers have applied in writing to take part in the debate, including three applying on behalf a caucus. The minister himself has asked to appear. In line with the Rules of Procedure, MPs who have applied in writing can speak for no more than 20 minutes, while those who apply on behalf of a caucus have up to 30 minutes. Following those who have applied in writing, MPs can still apply to speak in the debate. Cabinet members, the premier and House chair and vice-chairs can apply to take the floor at any time. The no-confidence vote in Susko was initiated by opposition MPs, who objected, among other things, to his decision to file an appeal in the case of convicted former special prosecutor Dusan Kovacik and to suspend his imprisonment pending the decision of the Supreme Court on the appeal. The head of the Justice Ministry stands by his actions, claiming that he acted in line with standard tools of the legal system in the case of Kovacik. ko/df
