Bratislava, October 25 (TASR) - Interior Ministry's biggest achievements during its one year in government include the end of the war in the police and the stopping of illegal migration, Interior Minister Matus Sutaj Estok (Voice-SD) stated at a press conference on Friday. "Today, the war in the police is over. The cooperation of security forces such as the Slovak Intelligence Service, the National Security Bureau, the Military Intelligence and the Police Corps is the best over the last 30 years since the Slovak Republic was set up," stated Sutaj Estok. The minister considers the second biggest success to be the stopping of illegal migration. "Since we've been in government, there has been a more than 95 percent drop in illegal migration," he said, also stressing that illegal migration isn't a human-rights struggle, but a business for smugglers that brings security risks. The minister also highlighted the adoption of a stabilisation allowance for police officers in the amount of €5,000, as well as an increase in the housing allowance for police officers by €100, which will go up further by another €200 on average from next year. am/mcs
