Even Assassination Attempt Didn't Stop Fico's 4th Cabinet from Achieving Results

Bratislava, October 25 (TASR) - Not even the assassination attempt on Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) stopped his fourth government from achieving results, the Government Office said on the occasion of the first anniversary of assuming office, TASR was told by its information department on Friday. "Despite the fact that the government took over the management of the state in the worst condition ever - from the state of public finances to the elementary functioning of basic institutions, the government has worked to maintain the living standards of Slovaks while consolidating public finances to the greatest extent possible," said the office. According to the authority, the cabinet has been able to attract foreign investment and launch infrastructure projects with the help of funding from the Recovery and Resilience Plan. The Government Office considers the introduction of 13th pensions, state aid for mortgages and stable energy prices as successes. Meanwhile, the government has adopted a number of reforms, including the reform of the Penal Code, which, according to it ensured the restoration of the rule of law, and the reform of the construction law, which resulted in the speeding up of construction procedures. am/mcs
