Bratislava, October 26 (TASR) - Former labour minister Milan Krajniak has become new head of the parliamentary Christian Union, being elected to the post at a party congress on Saturday. Krajniak will replace Anna Zaborska, who's been in charge of the Christian Union since 2019. Zaborska didn't run for re-election, but she accepted the post of honorary party chair. The new Christian Union head was the only candidate in the election and he obtained votes from the vast majority of the delegates. Krajniak presented his vision for the party at the congress. "If we want to kick-start Slovakia's economy, we need more economic freedom, less regulation, less taxes and less red tape. If we want to restore Slovakia as a state, we need to shift competences from the government to cities, municipalities and regions. This means slimming down the government and reducing the number of ministries to a third," Krajniak said. zel
