SLK Calls on People to Stick to Official Authority Statements on mRNA Vaccines

Bratislava, October 31 (TASR) - The Slovak Medical Chamber (SLK) is concerned about statements made by Government Proxy for the Investigation into COVID-19 Pandemic Management Peter Kotlar about the possibility of particles of mRNA vaccines being transferred by blood transfusions from vaccinated donors to unvaccinated recipients. SLK views these statements as subjective and has called on the public to observe statements made by the official authorities in this field. "We're pointing out that such statements could provoke uncertainty among patients regarding the protection of their health, and at the same time they could raise doubts among the general public about the safety of transfusions," stressed SLK in a statement sent to TASR by its communications manager Nancy Zavodska. Kotlar has addressed questions regarding mRNA vaccines to the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) and the State Institute for Drug Control (SUKL). He thinks that unvaccinated patients might receive blood transfusions from vaccinated patients and thus become vaccinated against their will. He said that until mRNA vaccines are proven to be safe and effective, he'd rather exercise extreme caution regarding blood donations and the receiving of transfusions. ko/df
