Bratislava/Beijing, November 1 (TASR) - With respect to the war in Ukraine, China is rightfully concerned about the out-of-control escalation and the risk of nuclear conflict, Prime Minister Robert Fico (Smer-SD) declared in his video on Facebook after his meeting with Chinese President Xi-Jinping in China on Friday. "We share the same view on the impossibility of putting an immediate end to the fighting so long as Ukraine continues to receive military and financial aid from the West to perpetuate the war. As Prime Minister I support all peacemaking plans for Ukraine, regardless of who authors them," declared Fico. Fico believes that the Chinese-Brazilian peace plan could be instrumental to secure peace for Ukraine and he plans to discuss it with the Brazilian side during his December visit to Brazil. The Slovak Prime Minister declared that the EU continues its pro-war rhetoric, whereas the voice of peace resonates through China. He added that Slovakia will join at the UN level the "Friends of Peace group, formed to support the end of war in Ukraine". mf/mcs
