Bratislava, November 4 (TASR) - Parliamentary Vice-chair Tibor Gaspar (Smer-SD) has given up the post of the head of the parliamentary defence and security committee. It was the Dennik N daily that broke the news first, with Gaspar confirming the information for TASR, citing his workload in the post of the parliamentary vice-chair as the reason for it. MP Richard Gluck (Smer-SD) should replace him in the post of the committee head. "I stepped down as the parliamentary defence and security committee head today. MP Gluck will replace me in the post, if elected," Gaspar has told TASR. "I think that I am momentarily quite busy as the parliamentary vice-chair," he said, adding that he wants to remain in the defence and security committee as its member. In addition to Gaspar, Andrej Danko (Slovak National Party/SNS) currently serves as the parliamentary chair, as well as Peter Ziga (Voice-SD), who has been entrusted with the powers of House chair. House vice-chairs are, for example, in charge of leading parliamentary sessions. Two posts in Parliament's leadership are currently vacant. Parliament has no chair since Peter Pellegrini's victory in the presidential election. The House has no vice-chair from the opposition ranks, either, since Progressive Slovakia (PS) leader Michal Simecka has been dismissed from the post. ko/mcs
