USElection24: Pellegrini Congratulates Trump on Victory (2)

Bratislava, November 6 (TASR) - President Peter Pellegrini on Wednesday congratulated Donald Trump on winning the presidential election in the USA, wishing him and the American people many successes. "Our countries are united by common values of freedom and democracy. I confirm that Slovakia remains a reliable and responsible ally in NATO. I believe in continuing our cooperation, and I'm confident that relations between the USA and Slovakia, as well as with the whole of Europe, will continue to develop in a positive direction," said Pellegrini, as cited by his office. Pellegrini claimed that he didn't have a favourite in the elections and that he couldn't even compare the two candidates from personal experience, as he's never met Democrat Kamala Harris. He noted that he met Trump as Slovak premier in 2019, however. Trump, according to Pellegrini, focused on topics in which Americans were more interested. In his view, migration and the US economy are serious topics. Pellegrini would like cooperation with the next US president to be constructive and for the USA not to slip into a trade war with Europe. "It is my wish that the words of re-elected president Trump, who announced that he will do everything he can to end the conflict near our eastern border as soon as possible, will also come true," said Pellegrini. Republican Party candidate and former US President Donald Trump already has enough votes in the Electoral College to win the presidential election.
