President Pellegrini Signs Tourism Fund Act

Bratislava, November 7 (TASR) - The sustainability of tourism and its infrastructure in Slovakia will be supported as of next year by a new public fund, with an annual budget of at least €20 million, provided by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, as President Peter Pellegrini signed the Tourism Support Fund Act on Thursday.
The top body of the fund will be formed by an administrative board, due to consist of a chair and eight members, appointed and ousted by the Tourism Minister. Aside from state representatives, the board will also include representatives of local authorities and tourism organisations. The fund structure is going to include also a supervisory board and a director.
The legislation is slated to come into effect as of January 1, 2025.
