Bratislava, November 9 (TASR) - According to Alma Career's JobsIndex survey, 53 percent of employees in Slovak companies have access to education, but nearly 10 percent have lost this opportunity in recent months.
Employees most often seek to study for career advancement or to enhance their qualifications in order to perform their jobs better.
"Especially in times of labour shortages and rapid technological innovation, continuous learning and progression are essential. They can enhance expertise, facilitate career advancement, shift job focus and support personal growth. The most frequent users of such training are those in education and health care, where it is accessible to nearly 80 percent of employees," said the company's PR manager, Lubica Melcerova.
She added that 82 percent of the respondents use the training opportunities available in their companies, but only 12 percent make full use of them. The biggest motivation for people to pursue education is to move on to more interesting work and to improve their future prospects. The survey also found that just under a quarter of people engage in training to keep up with their colleagues, fearing that they wouldn't be able to do so without it.
Regarding employers who provide training through the Seduo learning platform, two thirds of them consider it to be a solid part of the company's existence. One third offer it as a benefit, aiming to retain current employees but also to attract new ones.
"If the financial situation worsens, a quarter of employers will begin to cut back on educational initiatives, while the rest claim that there is always money left for education. Less than half of corporate training is across the board, 35 percent is dedicated to team training and a fifth is focused on personal training. The primary focus is on developing difficult skills," said Melcerova.
