Stats: Nominal Salaries Up Y-o-Y in All Sectors of Economy in September

Bratislava, November 12 (TASR) - Nominal monthly salaries posted year-on-year growth in all ten sectors monitored in September 2024, with growth in five of them slower than in the previous two months, the Statistics Office has reported. The steepest increase was observed in the sale and repair of motor vehicles - 8 percent, while the slowest was reported in construction - only 1.5 percent. When the impact of inflation is taken into account, salaries grew in real terms year-on-year in nine of the ten sectors, ranging from 0.2 percent in information and communications to 5.3 percent in sales and repairs of motor vehicles. Salary growth in transport and warehousing reached above 5 percent, while in industry and in pubs and restaurants it stood at 4 percent. Real salaries fell only in construction, by 1 percent. In the first nine months of this year, nominal and real salaries grew in all ten monitored sectors. Nominal salaries in transport and warehousing, in retail and in industry grew by more than 9 percent. Growth in real salaries ranged between 1.7 percent in information and communications and 6.8 percent in both retail and transport and warehousing.
